Spring Event, March 2025
Many researchers recognize that communicating their work to the general public can be challenging. It requires specific skills and an understanding of the audience. Fortunately, these skills can be learned! Our recent event focused entirely on this topic: “Communicating Your Science: How to Go Viral.” We brought together speakers from diverse scientific and media backgrounds, amongst others a professor with great translational skills, which she used at many occasions at talkshow tables, news items or tv-shows for childern. Next to her, a commissioning editor at BNNVARA and a podcast creator were present to share their stories and each sharing their…

Spring Event, April 2024
In April 2024 we hosted our Spring event at the Spoorwegmuseum in Utrecht, shedding light on sustainability in healthcare and research. Attendants got an interesting program consisting of lectures and workshops on practical implementation of sustainable practices. Speakers and workshops were provided by representatives of the ‘Groene Zorg Alliantie’, Greenlabs, GreenCare Academy, Princess Maxima Center, Green OR (Cardiothoracic Surgery) and the Green Team of the UMC Utrecht. The keynote lecture was done by Joke Boonstra from Erasmus MC and current chair of the Sustainability committee of the NFU. After the official program, enough time was available for drinks and networking.

Considering the registrations and feedback, the event was a huge success! For…

Crossing borders, especially now.
The ESC 2020 congress is around the corner and we are excited to attend! The organizing committees have been working incredibly hard to make this congress one to remember. A digital conference can be highly effective with many presentations and discussions on-demand or live without the need to travel halfway around the globe. There seems to be no disadvantage to online meetings. However, the main reason people prefer to meet face-to-face (in a COVID-19-free world) is of course the social…
