Prior calls – Crazy Idea Grants

Crazy Idea grants and Communicating Science contest

We were proud that the call for proposals for our first two Crazy Idea grants and Communicating Science Contest resulted in many applications! The deadline for these calls have passed. However, look here for more information on active calls!

At 29 september 2017, 5 nominees gave their best pitch for the first 'Crazy Idea' grant. The jury of CVON representatives and the audience elected Josine the Winter (VUmc) and Wouter Meijers (UMCG) as the first winners of the grant.

At 23 March 2018, another 5 nominees gave their best pitch for the first 'Crazy Idea' grant. The jury of CVON representatives and the audience elected Verena Schwach (University of Twente) and Tom Seijkens (AMC) as the winners of the grant.

At 16 November 2018, we hosted a 'Communicating Science' contest in which the applicants were asked to pitch their research for a lay audience. The jury elected Suzanne Koch (TU/e, "Locally grown blood vessels: as literally as possible") as the winner! Second prize was for Rio Juni (VUMc, "Empagliflozin to relax a stiff heart") and third prize was for Larissa Dorsch (VUMc, "Garbage collectors of the heart on strike").

Congrats to all!
